Las Lomitas students engage in interactive and hands-on learning activities designed to immerse students in the exciting world of science and natural phenomena.
Teachers use the Twig Science program, a phenomena-based science program for TK through 3rd grade, built for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The scope and sequence ensure all students have an interwoven understanding of Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Crosscutting Concepts.
The instructional design challenges students to experience dozens of different STEM roles as they become creative problem solvers, making sense of engaging, real-world phenomena to bring science's wonders to every student.
